SILO supports the R&D institutions of Cantabria in their road towards excellence
Throughout the second semester of 2016, SILO supported the Society for the Development of Cantabria (SODERCAN for its initials in Spanish) in the identification and analysis of more than 35 indicators of scientific production and technology transfer of 7 universities and R&D centers of Cantabria, focusing on the analysis of scientific excellence and leadership.
The objective was to establish a ranking of the centers, institutes, R&D groups, etc. with the highest quality of scientific research, relevance, impact and competitiveness, both nationally and internationally. This allowed SILO and SODERCAN to identify which entities were in a better competitive position to face the challenge of gaining access to calls for excellence Severo Ochoa and María de Maeztu, and discern what were the main gaps to achieve these qualifications. In a second phase, SILO supported five of these institutions in the development of strategic plans that allow them to correct this gap.
